Hodgdon Yachts introduces Available, the Tripp design 20 meter sloop
August 4, 2009

Launched June 20, 2009 she will debut at the Maine Boats Homes and Harbor Show August 7-9, 2009

This Hodgdon/Tripp collaboration highlights the prominent characteristics each firm brings to the table: the luxury yachtbuilder's reputation for superior finish work, advanced engineering and state-of-the-art hull technology, and the designer's distinction for modern hull lines, elegant interiors and powerful sail plans.

AVAILABLE's sleek lines, metallic blue topsides and silver pilothouse are an indication of Hodgdon's innovation and quality. Beneath this striking paint finish is a carbon/kevlar/cedar composite structure. Within this performance shaped hull are all the systems found in a modern luxury yacht; hydraulic - electric sail controls, lifting keel, bow thruster, water makers, latest generation electronics and entertainment equipment.

Tripp Design's narrow lightweight hull form combined with the powerful fractional rigs and performance optimizing lifting keel make for fast easily driven yachts. Their designs easily alternate between comfortable home and seaworthy speedster. Clearly these traits are appealing to the European market and Hodgdon Yachts is proud to deliver this yacht with the CE mark.

AVAILABLE's design enhances the experience of a great sailing yacht with the comforts and fine appointments of a great cruising yacht. The large wraparound windscreen of the pilothouse offers excellent visibility at the interior helm and banquette while flooding the galley with natural light. Aft are two cabins with ensuite heads with the largest cabin and head forward. On the race-cruise spectrum AVAILABLE's appointments and systems suggest she might be more cafˇ than racer. However, after some builder's trial sails in the month of July this powerful sail plan and narrow hull suggest she might be a flyer with a talented and attentive crew onboard. Right now we know the paint crew and purchasing agent can get her up over ten knots in a moderate breeze during their first time at the helm.
